Christianity went about turning
the world upside down because the truth showed it to be standing wrong side up. The Scripture records in acts 17: 6, “But when they did not find them, they
dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, ‘These who have turned the world upside down
have come here too’.” But nearly 2 millennia later, we find that denominationalism is thriving at turning
the “WORD OF GOD” upside down and people love to have it so. It is amazing how so many place their trust in men
rather than God’s unchanging word. We are living in similar times of Jeremiah, “An astonishing and horrible
thing has been committed in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the
priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer. 5:30-31).
Or as Isaiah penned, “That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the
Lord; who say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ and to the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy to us right things; speak
to us smooth things, prophesy deceits’” (Is. 30:9-10). Notice how denominationalism turns the WORD upside
down:
ACTS 22:16
“And now why are you waiting? Arise
and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
Bible Denominationalism
1) Don’t Delay
1) Do Later
2) Arise
2) Call - Lord
3) Baptized 3) Wash Sins
4) Wash Sins
4) Baptized
5) Call - Lord
5) Arise-Go Your Way
TURNING THE WORD UPSIDE DOWN!
Is it not amazing how people
tolerate such an evil upheaval of the scripture? The Bible expresses urgency in baptism, yet what does your preacher say?
The Bible says that you are to arise and be baptized and wash away your sins calling on the name of the Lord? But does your
preacher say, “Arise, call on the Lord and have your sins washed away and (a week, two weeks, a month) later get baptized”? “Do not add to His words, lest He
rebuke you, and you be found a liar” (Prov. 30:6). “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all” (Eccl. 12:13). “Not everyone
who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven”
(Matt. 7:21).
